私の英作文

Some people say that the number of children who take the junior high school entrance exam is increasing. However, I think the number is decreasing for the following two reasons.
The first reason is that the number of children is decreasing. Due to the aging society and decreasing marriages, the fertility rate is rapidly dropping. As a result, the number of children is dropping and fewer examinees.
The second reason is that competition between children is getting weaker. As the number of children decreases, academic competition between them is getting weaker. Every student can enter university without studying. It is enough for students to learn at ordinary junior high school and the entrance examination for junior high school will be eliminated.
For the two reasons mentioned above, I think we can say with confidence that fewer children take the entrance exam for junior high school.

I think the entrance exam for high school is still necessary. High school education in Japan is not mandatory and each school has its own curriculums. That is why each school has to gather students whose ability is suited with their education.

I see. Do you think students should proceed to high school or is graduating junior high school enough?

【私】
I think students should graduate from high school and just graduating from junior high school is not enough because in Japan, most companies require job seekers to graduate from high school.

【講師】
If our goal is to help children obtain good education, is it really necessary to have entrance examinations?

【私】
I think it depends on the definition of good education. If children want to be hired by companies to live in Japan, high school is needed and high school education is good for the children. In that case, an entrance examination is necessary. If children decide to live by themselves after junior high school, they don’t need the entrance exam.

【講師】
I see your point. What about overseas education? Will it give you an advantage when looking for work in Japan?

【私】
I think overseas education will make a difference and be quite beneficial when working in Japan. Most Japanese people still can not speak English well therefore, even though what people learn overseas have nothing to do with what the companies require, language advantage is quite huge.

(1) Leave the noun in the singular when you use the determiner “each” since it refers to one. Or you can say: … schools have their own curriculums.
(2) Add “to” to show where the focus is.

I think students should graduate from high school and just graduating from junior high school is not enough because (1), in Japan, most companies require job seekers to graduate from high school.

(1) Add a comma to show a pause.

【私】

(1) Add the article “a” before words that begin with a consonant sound.
