今回は英検準1級面接問題でよく使う表現についてです。

英検準1級の問題は結構パターンが決まっています。

基本的なパターンを先に抑えておきましょう。

例題と解答

まずは「ゆるゆる英語」オリジナルの英検準1級面接サンプル問題と解答例を載せます。

One day, an old man said to his family. “I can drive a car”. His son said to him. “Please be careful because the elderly tends to make mistakes when driving.” A few hours later, he started to drive a car on the road. When driving, he suddenly changed his cars position without checking his next lane and nearly hit a fire truck. The fire truck driver got angry and said. “It is dangerous!” Finally, he crashed his car to a pole and his car was completely broken therefore his car was scrapped. He lost his car but lucky he did not have any injuries. A year later, he bought an autonomous car which can be driveled by itself. He don’t need to concern about his driving technique anymore. He said “self-driving car is useful”.

解答例：I would be thinking that I have to make him stop driving because it was really dangerous for him to drive a car.

No. 2 問題カードのトピックに関連した質問
Do you believe that a self-driving car is beneficial for our society?

解答例：Yes. There are a lot of the elderly in Japan and cars are required for them especially in the countryside. By using self-driving car, there are no concerns for them to cause accidents.

Do you think that young people do not want to have their own cars?

解答例：Yes. Yes. It is difficult for young people to have their own cars because tax payment and social security is getting bigger and bigger. Also, there are a lot of things to enjoy today such as games therefore they don’t need to buy cars for their hobbies.

No. 4　問題カードのトピックにやや関連した、社会性のある質問
Do you think electric vehicle can solve the environmental problems in the future?

解答例：Yes. It does not emit Carbon dioxide and toxic gases such as NOx. By using them, we can stop global warming and air pollution in the future.

英検準1級面接ナレーションで使える表現・フレーズ

英検準1級面接のナレーションで使える表現は結構限られています。

気を付けるポイント含めて解説していきます。

人間の感情の描写表現・フレーズ

英検準1級の絵の多くが、何かの問題に直面して登場人物の感情に揺らぎがあります。

この喜怒哀楽の表現は定番なので使えるようにしておきましょう。

happy
angry
concerned
confused

時間の変化を表す表現・フレーズ

絵から次の絵に移る際は時間の経過があり、時間の経過の単語が頻出です。

この表現も慣れておきましょう。

以下のようなものです。

next day
next morning
a few days later

ここで注意することは、イラストに書かれている言葉をそのまま使用することです。

ここで工夫するメリットは全くありません。

変に工夫して間違えると、減点される可能性があります。

他の部分で頭を使った方がいいので、おとなしく絵に描かれている内容を使用しましょう。

念のため例文を載せておきます。

A few months later, a man went to a mountain to climb.

直接話法

登場人物の発言はナレーションに必須です。

発言を表現する方法には以下があります。

直接話法
間接話法

直接話法のほうが簡単なので直接話法を使用しましょう。

使いかたは以下。

人物 said “発言内容をそのまま使う“.

例題の場合は以下。

One day, an old man said to his family. “I can drive a car”.
His son said to him. “Please be careful because the elderly tends to make mistakes when driving.”
He said “self-driving car is useful“

この表現にすれば、気を付けるべきは主語だけです。

後はsaidを付けた後、絵に描かれている発言内容をそのまま読むだけです。

ここで時制ミスが起こりやすい間接話法を使用する必要は全くありません。

色々考える余力は他に使うように心がけましょう。

英検準1級Q＆Aで使えるテンプレート

英検準1級のQ＆Aはパターンが決まっているものがあります。

パターン化されている質問にはテンプレートで回答するのが一番効果的です。

ここからは英検準1級のQ＆Aで使えるテンプレートについて解説します。

No. 1 イラストに関連した質問

最初の質問は以下のパターンが多いです。

If you were 登場人物, what would you be thinking?

この表現は仮定法が使われています。

もしあなたが「登場人物」だったら、どのように考えますか？

という意味です。

ここはテンプレート対応で問題なし。

I would be thinking(I’d be thinking) that～で回答しましょう。

I’d be thinking that I should not have bought an Ultra PC whose reviews seemed overly exaggerated.

日本の社会についての質問

英検準1級では日本の社会についての質問が来ます。

多いパターンが日本の人々にとって〇〇はどうか？です。

日本の人々の部分は若い世代だったり子供だったりします。

少子高齢化、インターネットなどが関連していることが多いです。

よく使う表現の一つが中学校で習う It is △ for 〇 because の形。

今回の解答例でも以下のように使っています。

Yes. Yes. It is difficult for young people to have their own cars because tax payment and social security is getting bigger and bigger.

△部分の単語以下が良く使われます。

これらの単語をぱっと使えるように繰り返し練習しましょう。

Yes. Animals can relive the stress and help us stay mentally healthy. Also, it is important to own pets for especially children to learn importance of lives.
