 I think that joining a group tour is more enjoyable than traveling by themselves for the　following two reasons. 

 First, there are no concerns. A group tour is guided by a tour guide, and you don’t need to prepare anything, especially checking where safe places are. 

 Second, a group travel can create chances to meet with a lot of travelers. During the group tour you will talk with travelers in the same tour group and share information about the country you are visiting.

 For these two reasons, I believe that group travel is better than traveling by themselves.

高校生は海外旅行に行くべきか？

Some people say that Japanese high schools students should go on trips abroad. What do you think about that?

 I think that Japanese high schools students should go on trips abroad for the following two reasons. 

 First, it is necessary to learn culture. It is common to hire foreigners due to lack of workforce. Therefore, young people must understand the cultural difference. Traveling abroad is the best way to do that. 

 Second, traveling abroad is a valuable experience. When staying abroad they will learn different ways of thinking. As a result, they will think differently and assimilate into our modern society that is rapidly developing. 

 To conclude, I believe that high schools must take them to go abroad.

Some people say that children today spend too much time using smartphones. What do you think about that?

I think that children today spend too much time using smartphones for the following two reasons.

 First, it is addictive and harmful. Recently there are a lot of children that cannot stop using smartphones. It is just a waste of time and children must focus on studying. 

 Second, too much use of smartphones and social media causes bullying. Recently bullying on the internet is a serious problem in school and a big burden for teachers to deal with. 

 For these two reasons, I believe that children spend too much time using smartphones. 

外国映画に出る俳優は将来増えるか？

Recently, there are some Japanese actors and actresses  in foreign films. Do you think the number of these actors and actresses will increase in the future?

 I think the number of actors and actresses who work in foreign films will increase in the future for the following two reasons. 

 First, the domestic film industry is shrinking. Due to the declining population, it is difficult to earn money in Japan. Thus, they will work in foreign countries. 

 Second, appearing in foreign films is a way to become popular. Now it is common for them to become famous by appearing foreign movies. To survive in a harder environment, the number will increase.

 To conclude, I believe that actors and actresses will work in foreign countries in the future.

  I think it is a good idea for students to take part in club activities for the following two reasons. 

 First, club activities improve the ability to communicate. Club activities let them talk with their classmates more. They will learn how to communicate. This is an important skill for their life.

 Second, some sports activities improve their health. Recently it is difficult for children to have time to play sports because there are no places. Sports activity improves their health and strength.

  For the two reasons mentioned above, I believe that students must participate in club activities.

Some people say that it is necessary for people to go to important historical sites in order to understand history better. Do you agree with this opinion?

 I think it is necessary for people to go to important historical sites to understand history better for the following two reasons.

 First, actual experience at historical sites is much better than just knowing history by textbook. Just standing there stimulates people and lets them understand its history easily. 

 Second, visiting historical sites increases motivation. People want to learn history by visiting other places and their knowledge of history will be broadened.

 For the two reasons mentioned above, I think it is highly required for us to go to historical places.

美術館は無料で使用すべき？

Some people say that it is necessary for people to go to important historical sites in order to understand history better. Do you agree with this opinion?

 I do not agree with the opinion that all people should be able to enter museums for free for the following two reasons.

 First, museums offer services for visitors therefore visitors must pay for them. Museums create a learning environment for us, and it is a valuable experience to learn something. 

 Second, maintenance costs are needed for museums. In order to maintain its facility and work of art that they own, costs are required. Visitors have to pay for them.

 For the two reasons mentioned above, I think people must pay to enter museums. 

現代人はサプリの取りすぎ？

Some people say that people today depend too much on supplements such as protein. What do you think about that?

 I think people today depend too much on supplements such as protein for the following two reasons.

 First, too much consumption of supplements causes disease. It is reported that recently there are a lot of patients suffering from kidney issues caused by heavy consumption of protein powder.

 Second, nutrition balance must be controlled by ordinary meals. As animals, we must take nutrition from foods such as meat and vegetables rather than supplements. 

 For the two reasons I believe that recently supplementation dependence is quite a serious problem, and the government must show guidelines to use them.

将来、紙の辞書を使わなくなるのか？

Today, many people use smartphones to check the meaning of English words. Do you think people will stop buying paper dictionaries in the future?

I think people will stop buying paper dictionaries in the future for the following two reasons.

First, smartphones are convenient. Smartphones are small and easy to bring and can do everything. On the other hand, a paper dictionary is too big and heavy to carry.

Second, just having a smartphone is cheap and sufficient. Recently, every student has a smartphone and can search the meaning of words by using it, therefore, owning a paper dictionary is not reasonable.

For the two reasons mentioned above, I think that paper wordbooks will not be purchased in the future. 

子供たちはもっと外で遊ぶべき？

It is often said that a lot of children tend to spend more time inside than before. Do you think children should be involved in outside activities?

 I think children should be involved in outside activities for the following two reasons. 

 First, outside activities tell them the importance of nature. Learning the importance of our environment, children will want to know the current situation of the earth. As a result, environmental problems will be solved by next generations.

 Second, playing outside improves physical strength. It is reported that recent students’ physical strength is getting weaker and weaker because they play inside. Outside activities stimulate muscles and make them stronger. 

 For the two reasons mentioned above I believe that children should spend more time outside with friends. 

日本は食料自給率を上げるべきか？

Some people say that Japan has to increase the production of food. What do you think about this?

   I think Japan must increase the production of food for the following two reasons.

 First, food is essential for our life. Food is a fundamental part of our economy. Therefore, it is the government’s responsibility to try to raise it.

 Second, high food dependence on other countries is a risk. Japan can produce only 35% of the food which their nationals need. Therefore, our country completely depends on food sources in foreign countries. Japan If something happened such as war or global extreme weather, food prices would skyrocket.  

 To conclude, I believe that food production in Japan must be increased.

日本食レストランは増えるか？

It is often said that the number of Japanese restaurants in foreign countries will increase in the future? What do you think about that?

 I think that the number of Japanese restaurants in foreign countries will increase in the future for the following two reasons. 

 First, the reputation of Japanese foods will become better. As longevity is getting longer, awareness of healthy food is more valued. Therefore, Japanese cuisine, which has been regarded as healthy, will become popular. 

 Second, globalization will make Japanese food more popular. Due to globalization, the world is more connected, and many foreigners will visit Japan. As a result, authentic Japanese food is widely known.  

 To conclude, I believe Japanese restaurants will be more widely spread in the future. 

日本は海外の人を受け入れるべきか？

Some people say that Japan should accept more people from other countries to work in Japan. Do you agree with this opinion?

I agree with this opinion that Japan should accept more people from other countries to work in Japan for the following two reasons.

 First, Japan is facing a lack of workforce and needs foreign workers. In Japan about one thirds of people are over 60s and due to this aging society, all industries need young workers from abroad.

 Second, foreign people stimulate the economy. As they settle in Japan, they spend a lot of money. As a result, the local economy will recover, and our society will be better.

To conclude, I believe that more foreign employees should be accepted.

スマホで勉強する人は将来増えるか？

These days, some people study on their smartphones. Do you think more people will do so in the future?

I think some more people will study on their smartphones in the future.

First, smartphones will be used as alternatives to textbooks. It is common to use tablets as textbook at school. Furthermore, by using smartphones which every student already has the government can reduce the costs of distributing tablets.

Second, more effective educational applications will be made. The application industry for education is rapidly developing. As a result, more effective applications for not only students but also adults will be made and spread to everyone.

For these two reasons, I believe that smartphones will be used for studying more.

日本では水が無駄にされているか？

Some people say that too much water is wasted in Japan. Do you agree with this opinion?

 I think too much water is wasted in Japan for the following two reasons. 

 First, our daily habits let us use huge amounts of water. In Japan it is common to take a bath daily. As a result, households in Japan consume much more water than other developed countries. 

 Second, Japanese people unconsciously use water ineffectively. Because Japan’s archipelagos are covered with a huge forest and there are sufficient water sources, the importance of water is not well educated. That brings unconscious use of water and damages the environment.   

 To conclude, I believe that Japan wasted too much water. 

都市の自動車の数を制限すべきか？

Some people say that the number of cars in cities should be limited. Do you agree with this idea?

I agree with the opinion that the number of cars in cities should be limited for the following two reasons.

First, reducing cars improves public safety. As the car numbers are limited, car accidents will be decreased. As a result, there is no concern that people are involved in vehicle accidents.

Second, the environment becomes better with fewer cars. Cars emit toxic gas and soot that cause diseases such as asthma and lung cancer. Limiting cars in the city will lead to a good environment for citizens.

To conclude, I believe that the number of vehicles should be limited.

I do not think that people today use too much electricity for the following two reasons. 

First, rising electricity costs suppress consumption of electricity. Due to the rapid increase of electricity cost, each household and companies are trying not to use too much electricity.  

 Second, the latest technology can use electricity more efficiently. A lot of companies make eco-friendly products that can use electricity more wisely because consumers are concerned about the environment. 

For the two reasons mentioned above I believe that today’s society can avoid using too much electricity.

Second, technology development can invent new products that are eco-friendly. For example, the latest technology can make new batteries that can be used for electric vehicles. As a result, reducing the huge amount of CO2 will be possible. 

In conclude, I believe that eco-friendly products will be more common and available.

It is often said that restaurant and supermarkets should try to reduce the amount of food they throw away. Do you agree with this opinion.

I think restaurants and supermarkets should not try to reduce the amount of food they throw away for the following two reasons.

First, reducing abandoned food increased the cost and it is not good for consumers. For example, when they tried to reuse food as fertilizer additional cost is needed and finally customers must pay for it. 

Second, dealing with the abandoned food may cause health and safety problems. For example, store may make food expired date longer and it might cause food poisoning. 

To conclude, I believe that reducing abandoned food cause many troubles and should not be done.

I think that Japan should use the Internet for the people to vote in elections for the following two reasons. 

First, internet elections improve convenience to vote and increase voting rate. By using the internet, everyone can vote anywhere at any time. That will involve more people in politics.

Second, elections on the internet reduce operation cost. When holding conventional voting, a lot of people must be hired to prepare for voting places and help to count voting cards. Using the internet, these costs can be completely eradicated.

To conclude, I believe that Japan must use internet voting.

Today, many buildings collect rainwater and then use it in various ways, such as giving water to plants. Do you think such buildings will become more common in the future?

I think buildings which use rainwater and use it will not become more common in the future.

First, the cost is too expensive. For example, water tanks must be made to collect rainwater and buildings must be designed to have the water tank. 

Second, it might be dangerous when emergency events happen. For example, if people have to run to the roof of a building which has no space due to water collecting facilities, it is difficult for them to survive. 

To conclude, use of rainwater in buildings will not be more common in the future.
